Turku Pride

Turku with Palestine marches in Turku Pride Saturday 30 August as part of a radical bloc. The block will meet at the Old Market Square at 11 am and the procession will leave at 12 noon.

Is the Pride movement suffering from a lack of rebellion? Do you want to demand total liberation for all, instead of hand-warming assimilation and acceptance? Turku with Palestine, queer anarchists and other comrades marched as a block at Turku Pride.

Our requirements are:

We call for a re-politicisation of the Pride movement. Our existence is political and the demand for liberation we put forward is radical: we don’t have to blend into the mainstream or settle for “being tolerated.” We do not demand acceptance for the few, but total liberation for all.

We demand principled anti-Zionism from all queer and LGBTQ+ organisations. This demand is non-negotiable. We oppose all attempts to pinkwash imperialist oppression and know that the only way forward is a free Palestine, from the river to the sea.

In today’s Finland, trans health care is decided by anti-gender “experts.” We recognise the unacceptability of the situation, and reaffirm our absolute commitment to the struggle for transgender people’s right to self-determination. Our demand is: Gatekeepers down! Trans liberation now!
