Discussion at the World Village Festival

How to achieve a rights-based and decolonised peace in Palestine-Israel? What does this require in practice? What is Finland’s role in this work? Sumud hosts a panel discussion about Finland’s role in advancing a just and sustainable future in Palestine-Israel at the World Village Festival, on May 24, at 7:05–7:30 p.m.

The panel discussion deconstructs Western-centric models of peace mediation and explores the meaning of decolonisation. The panelists are Noora Dadu, Chair of Sumud – the Finnish Palestine Network, Georgia Gerike, founding member of Nahlieli – Jews for Justice in Palestine and Ilaria Tucci, board member of the European Peace Research Association. The discussion is moderated by Lili De Paola, coordinator of Sumud – The Finnish Palestine Network.

The discussion is in English. The programme can be followed on the festival’s Speaker’s Stage in Tiivistämö or via streaming on the festival’s website. Free admission!

The event is finished.
