Apply to the UNMUTED project
11/02/2026, 12:26Are you a young adult (18–30 years old) belonging to a minority and interested in social advocacy? Would you like support in planning your own advocacy project? Apply to join the UNMUTED project!
UNMUTED is a joint project between Sumud – the Finnish Palestine Network and Mirsal. The goal of the project is to strengthen the civic participation of young adults in Finland – especially among the Global South diaspora and other marginalized groups.
By Global South diaspora, we refer to people who are from or have roots in countries located in Africa, Latin America, Asia, or Oceania. We also welcome applications from linguistic minorities, sexual and gender minorities, and those who belong to a minority due to illness or disability. We particularly encourage young people from the Arabic-speaking diaspora to apply.
During the project, which runs throughout 2026, participants will learn about the mechanisms of decision-making and advocacy, and receive support for their own advocacy work.
The project includes two training weekends and a total of six remote meetings (preliminary schedule below). Participants commit to attending all events. Participation is free of charge and travel expenses will be reimbursed.
Participants are required to have proficiency in Finnish, English, or Arabic. Please note that the training sessions are mainly in English with support available in Finnish and Arabic, as no professional interpreter will be provided.
