Turku: Documentary Screening

On Friday February 27th at 6:30 pm, Turku with Palestine organises a free screening of the Al Jazeera documentary The Disappearance of Dr. Abu Safiya (2025) in collaboration with Health for Palestine Finland. The screening takes place at Kirjakahvila (Vanha Suurtori 3, Turku).

The documentary investigates the assault on Kamal Adwan Hospital and the imprisonment of Dr. Hussam Abu Safiya, a prominent physician and chief of the hospital in Northern Gaza. Dr. Abu Safiya has been detained in an Israeli prison for over a year.

After the 45-minute documentary, we will have a discussion with Heidi Stenman, co-founder of Health for Palestine Finland and a public health nurse, along with other members of the collective. The discussion will focus on the situation in Gaza, the collective’s work in support of Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, and the responsibility of the Finnish state and health sector.

We invite all to watch the film and take part in the discussion! The café opens at 6:30 pm and the film starts at 7:00 pm.
