Turku: Reading Circle

In October, Turku with Palestine will read “Resisting Erasure: Capital, Imperialism and Race in Palestine” by Adam Hanieh, Robert Knox and Rafeef Ziadah.

We will meet at Kirjakahvila on Thursday 23rd October 16:00-18:00 to discuss the book.

The 2025 pamphlet, published by Verso, emerged from a series of educational day schools organised by the group Workers in Palestine in the midst of the genocide in Gaza, and is an essential introduction for anyone looking to understand what Palestine reveals about the world.

Challenging mainstream narratives that reduce Palestine to ancient hatreds, humanitarian tragedy, or legal abstractions, the book places Israeli settler-colonialism within the broader historical arc of imperialism, race, and fossil capitalism in the Middle East, and provides a thorough anti-imperialist critique of the forces that sustain the Israeli settler-colonial project today.
