About Us

Sumud is an intersectional organisation that works for ending Israeli apartheid, occupation and colonialism and for the realisation of Palestinian human and political rights.

As part of the global movement in solidarity with the Palestinian people, our goal is to end Finnish support for Israeli apartheid and turn it into support for democracy, decolonisation and human rights.

We support the Palestinian civil society call for boycotts, divestments and sanctions. We also support the BDS call’s demand for Israel to end occupation and colonisation of Arab lands, grant equality to Palestinian citizens of Israel, and implement the right of Palestinian refugees to return.

Sumud is opposed to all forms of colonialism, racism – including antisemitism and islamophobia – as well as sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism, and other forms of bigotry.

A survivor of multiple Israeli invasions in Gaza. A voice of resistance that has tirelessly uplifted Palestinian youth, mobilized solidarity, and courageously confronted German complicity in the occupation and oppression of Palestine.For this unwavering commitment, Majed has endured smears, assaults, home raids—and now a politicized trial based on false and fabricated accusations intended to criminalize his truth-telling and silence our movement. We reject these charges fully and without hesitation. This is not justice. This is repression.We denounce the German state’s weaponization of historical guilt to suppress Palestinian voices and dismantle our right to organize. In a country that hosts the largest Palestinian refugee community in Europe, censorship, dehumanization, and institutional silencing have become routine. Germany’s tenfold increase in arms exports to the Zionist regime in the midst of genocide is not neutrality—it is active complicity.We stand shoulder to shoulder with our comrades from the Palestine Speaks Coalition, whose courage in organizing from within the belly of the beast mirrors our own.
